Singing in the Rain?
I cannot quite remember the year but it was between 1995 and 1996. My friend Dayna came to my place with her daughter Taylor who was just a baby then, maybe 2 or 3 years old. We three went to the park nearby so Taylor can play there. There were not too many people at the time. There were just one older couple and another lady with her baby. I was just sitting on a curb by stretching my feet on the sand looking at people. When I saw the older lady, she looked like someone I knew.
I just couldn’t remember who she reminded me of. I kept looking at her when she was not looking at me. Then suddenly it dawned on me who she resembled. Wow! I thought. She looked just like Debbie Reynolds!! A bit of an older version. After a few minutes, I tried not to stare at her and tried to act as if I am watching Taylor and Dayna at the swings with a smile.
The lady slowly comes over to me and started talking about kids near the swings. She said the little baby is so cute. I said “yeah she is.” with a smile. Once again my thoughts revolved around the name “Debbie Reynolds”. She looked just like her, more even close-up! I just can’t help but think, “what if she is Debbie Reynolds”! She actually came and talked to me! WOW!
Right then the gentleman she came with, called her “Debbie come on let’s go”. She smiled and said bye. No question in my mind that was Debbie Reynold’s smile.
Right after, Dayna came towards me with Taylor and I told her about Debbie Reynolds. By the time she started looking at Debbie (Reynolds?), she was already on her way out.
Now, I cannot prove if she really was Debbie Reynolds or not. But my gut feeling was…that she was Debbie Reynolds!
Well if US president waived at me, it is very possible Debbie Reynolds actually talked to me.
This post is in the memory of Debbie Reynolds’ passing on the 28th of December 2016. She was a very memorable actress. How can anyone forget ‘Singing in the Rain’ along with other memorable films?
When her daughter Carrie Fisher passed away on 27th, She wanted to be with her daughter and said: “I want to be with Carrie”.
The next day she was gone. Now she is with her daughter exactly one day after Carrie Fisher’s passing. I am sure both spirits are united. God bless those spirits.
